They say a picture is worth 1000 words. Well, this picture is what a 10-years in the making vision looks like when it comes to life. In our mission statement we wrote more than 10 years ago, OnCore committed to being different, disruptive and sometimes divergent. We wanted to help grow the game through diversity and inclusion.
And we wanted to make the best damn golf balls on the market, period. All our goals and aspiration culminated with the inaugural OnCore Golf Celebrity Classic at Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course in Lewiston on June 12-13.
This unforgettable tournament consisted of two days of true joy, pure love, unlimited laughs and a couple of epic parties. We have been participating and supporting other celebrities’ tournaments for years. To have so many of them come to Buffalo to return the favor and support us shows just how deep and real the OnCore family is. And trust me, it’s growing fast.
The first night we hosted our VIP party for celebrities and sponsors at the stunning lobby bar in Seneca One tower in downtown Buffalo. The food, drinks, conversations and entertainment – wow, it was a night I’ll never forget. Legendary Master Gee from Sugar Hill Gang kicked it all off by performing two of the most iconic songs in Hip Hop. Everyone there witnessed one of the founders of hip hop in action.
Folks like Josh Allen, Anthony Anderson, Alonzo Mourning, Victor Green, William Wilson, James Anderson, Matt Haack, Harrison Phillips and others didn’t just show up; they interacted with everyone, played pool, danced and took pictures with anyone who asked. Our sponsors and guests brought just as much to the event with the energy and excitement.
The next day, we were treated to a perfect 72-degree day with not a cloud in the sky at Seneca Hickory Stick, one of Team OnCore’s favorite courses, a true partner and consummate host. It’s safe to say everyone had a great time. But speaking for myself and the OnCore family, we had the time of our lives!
A perfect, competitive day of golf followed by an awards dinner and entertainment by the Leroy Townes Band, which at one point played a live version of Master Gee’s music he’d performed alongside them. It was a huge success that couldn’t have been orchestrated and executed without the efforts of everyone involved and the support of the sponsors and celebrities.
The team was buzzing after those two days and we are already starting to plan for next year’s OnCore Celebrity Classic, 2023.
